you would not believe your eyes ••• if ten million fireflies Olivia tossed her colorful, over-sized bag onto the stage before climbing on herself. She knew she could have used the stairs, like any normal person would have, but it was more fun this way. Once Liv had pulled herself up, she turned and surveyed everything around her. The rows of seats, the curtain, the lights, the floor, the ceiling, everything. She hadn't yet acted on this stage, but she loved it already. It was unfamiliar, but familiar at the same time. Her heart started beating a little faster as she stared out at the sea of seats again. She couldn't wait to act here, to make memories on this stage, to bow in front of an admiring crowd, to show her father that she really could do this. Hopefully it would happen soon.
Dropping to a sitting position, Olivia pulled her bag closer to her to get started. She'd been in the library for about ten minutes before deciding to come here to study instead. She hated libraries sometimes, they were too quiet. After pulling out a few books and some paper, she focused on studying for a test. Or tried to anyway. The words kept blurring in front of her eyes and her mind wandered in different directions. Liv rolled onto her back and stared at the ceiling. She didn't want to study, she wanted to.... lay here. Just lay and do nothing. Olivia felt very mellow, something she'd never really felt at home with her father. They were always fighting or not speaking.
Feeling the slightest bit uneasy with her zen mode attitude, probably due to the fact it was so unfamiliar, Liv sat back up. Deciding to make a necklace, she dug around in her bag for some string. She quickly gave up, and just dumped everything out. After a minute or so of looking, Olivia found some pale pink, brown, and gray. She then began to search for scissors. Sorting through piles of makeup, pens, paper, and random items like a checkered scarf (she really ought to clean this thing out) made finding them that much harder. Eventually though she found them buried beneath two tubes of lip gloss, a pack of gum, a headband, a fuzzy pink pen, and a crumpled bookmark. She cut them down to the correct sizes and began to expertly braid them together.

Kerry had finished her homework and hadn't really been in the mood for socialising with other people in the dinner hall. She knew what would happen again - everyone would sit in their own little cliques and she would be left on the outside looking in again, not entirely sure where she would fit in. She wasn't cut out for the cool crowd - she wasn't popular and didn't get any attention from guys and she always tripped up over her own two feet. She wasn't particularly geeky either. She never knew what to do. She was thankful that she had sought refuge in the main stage.
Despite the size of the room complete with stage, rows and rows of seats, big curtains and full sized lights, it felt comfortable. There was a strange feeling of being at home in this room.
Kerry walked slowly down the isle in the middle of the room, allowing her fingers to gently graze the fabric of the seats and the wooden frames of the arms and backs. She had sat in a professional theatre before and could remember the feeling of being sat in an audience which slowly began to expand as theatre goers filled up the room. She remember sitting there, watching the safety curtain expectantly and listening to the swelling chords of the orchestra as the lights dimmed and a hushed silence fell over the crowd. Kerry could remember the hairs on her arms standing up as the feeling of excitement had intensified. It had been that exact moment that she had realised that performing was all she had ever wanted to do. She had never looked back since.
Kerry stopped her progress and looked up at the imposing stage. A ghost of a smile lifted the corners of her lips. She approached the front of the stage, running her hand over the black flooring. She inhaled that unique smell that belonged only to the theatre. Yep, this was exactly where she wanted to be. And nothing was going to stop her from achieving her dreams.
Turning, Kerry placed her hands on the smooth surface and hoisted herself up on the edge of the stage, pausing for a moment to adjust to the slight change in height. She then swung her legs up on the stage and stood up, walking away from the edge in wonderment. She began to explore the vast stage, allowing her hands to experience the texture of the curtains, wooden frames and anything else that needed to be touched. Kerry could be such a geek at times.
The sound of door opening made Kerry's head snap up. She quickly ran to hide in the wings, feeling her heartbeat accelerate. If she wasn't careful she would be caught in a rather compromising situation. Surely there was a way out of this room which wasn't the same way she had come in. She looked about her but couldn't see much due to the semi-darkness. Chewing on her lower lip, Kerry finally plucked up the courage to peer around the curtain. She could see someone sitting on the stage, oblivious to Kerry's presence. Kerry licked her dry lips. Oh dear, how was she going to work her way out of this one?

you would not believe your eyes ••• if ten million fireflies Olivia held her braided string in the palm of her hand. Now that she had half of the necklace finished, the easy part in her opinion, she had to find a charm of some sort to attach to it. Some people liked simple jewelry. A nice silver band or quiet chain necklace, worked for some people. Liv was not one of those people. She liked her jewelry to be loud or, if it was simple, have a message to go along with it. A silver band or chain do not say anything. So after finding an old key ring to put on it, to have something to put the charm on, she got up and began to look around.
She had found out a few years ago that sometimes the best pieces of jewelry were made of things that you found laying around. The clasp barrette of hers had broke, and Olivia thought that it was a waste that such a pretty barrette had to just be thrown out so she decided to do something with it. In the end a bracelet had been made, a bracelet that she had gotten quite a few compliments on. So now, unless she had already had a charm or trinket that she wanted to use, Liv hunted around for one she could use. Once, she'd even made a pair of earrings out of old monopoly pieces.
First, Olivia decided to look around the seats. Who knew what people had dropped? Which, Kay, sounded a bit gross, but she wasn't looking for gum wrappers or old tubes of lipstick. She was looking for things like key chains that had fallen off backpacks. Nothing caught her eye for the first few aisles, but somewhere in the middle something shiny glinted. Liv walked to wards it but it turned out to be an old sticker on the floor. As she stood back up, thought saw the curtains move.
It could have been a trick of the light but even so, Olivia started walking back up to the stage. She put the necklace in her pocket as she mounted the stairs and sidestepped her pile of junk. She thought about picking all of it up, but decided to wait until she found out if someone was hiding behind the curtain. Liv hesitated for a fraction of a second, then said, "Hiding in the wings isn't something a performer usually does," and pulled back the curtain.
